Artist Yetti Frenkel finds inspiration for her work in everyday scenes. Series of her work include subway commuters, kids in schools and playgrounds, grooms and horses at the local racetrack, and images from her own adventures.
After graduating with a BFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, she worked for the Big Apple Circus as a groom, taking care of Katje Schumann's beautiful and high-spirited horses. The work was tough but exciting, and upon returning she created a series of behind-the-scenes paintings portraying the performers and animals she had gotten to know.
Ms. Frenkel is also a writer, illustrator, and sculptor. She works in a variety of media, and has created murals for nine public libraries in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
